Supporting International Students in NSW
The Government of New South Wales believes that International students are an integral part of the cultural, social and economic fabric of the state of New South Wales and of Sydney.
NSW and Sydney is a multicultural community, offering a welcoming environment for students with a relaxed and friendly lifestyle to match.
In 2008, the NSW Government set up the NSW Ministerial Taskforce on International Education to ensure that international students feel their study experience is both safe and of high quality. The Ministerial Taskforce brought together representatives from across the international education sector, consulting widely to develop new measures to improve students’ experiences of studying, working and living in NSW.
In response, the Premier’s Council on International Education is being established to implement the NSW Government initiatives to support international students, the first of its kind in Australia.
